“Traveling for competitions opened my eyes to see that I still can do and be whatever I put my heart into.”
Where’s the coolest place you’ve traveled to for work? Did you get to party at all? For work as a teacher, I went to a national math conference in New Orleans with a coworker who is my age and it was the week after Mardi Gras. So, we absolutely had some fun partying on Bourbon Street. Since becoming a Professional Bikini Competitor and being sponsored by Natural Bikini Magazine, I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to travel and compete in Arizona and Los Angeles, last fall. Traveling for competitions opened my eyes to see that I still can do and be whatever I put my heart into.
Best things about Bikini Modeling? Worst things? Some of the absolute best things are the sponsorships and free products. The worst thing is always being self-conscious.
“In all honesty though, I am pretty much a genetic freak.”
What do you do to stay in shape, or are you just a genetic freak? I have always been very active and having clinical ADHD, I am always on the move. I love to compete in Triathlons because they challenge me mentally and physically, but I also really like to push myself with lifting weights. In all honesty though, I am pretty much a genetic freak. After giving birth to my kids, I felt really guilty because so many people would confront me asking what I did to lose the baby weight and to maintain such a great figure. I started working out just to have an answer to their questions.
Favorite Color: Teal.
Favorite Food: Bacon or Reese’s.
Are you a fast or slow driver? Lead foot.
Favorite part of your body? Shoulders and Eyes (since they are my favorite color).
Favorite part of a man’s body? Lats or Biceps. (I like to hold them).
First thing that comes to mind when you hear…
“Donald Trump”: The news of Donald Trump becoming our president honestly was heartbreaking. I am one of the many Americans who did not vote for Donald Trump because I could not in good conscious vote for someone who has disregarded so many issues that are so very close to home for me and my children, who are of Hispanic descent.
…”Winter”: Let it be cold enough for the lake I live on to freeze, so the kids and I can go ice skating. Oh, and it can snow enough for a snowman and a ski trip. Then we can get back to eighty degree days and enjoying the outdoors.
…”Spring”: My birthday! My favorite season, summer vacation is just around the corner and the air is warming up.
…”Sex”: What is that? LOL Actually, I am very conservative and I think it is something that is sacred.
“I stay lean the majority of the year, so it is more than likely you’ll see me taking the stage and doing what I love.”
…”Marijuana”: I don’t use “Marijuana” but I wouldn’t say I am totally against it, either. Seeing that I don’t use, it is something I haven’t researched much and I don’t like to make ill- informed remarks. So, I tend to keep quiet on the subject.
I do think that since it has been decriminalized in so many states, that there must be some benefit and/or research that supports the usage. But, we need to be careful with how it is presented to our youth’s developing minds.
What’s next for you? I haven’t picked out any competitions for this season yet. But I stay lean the majority of the year, so it is more than likely you’ll see me taking the stage and doing what I love. VIGOROUS
